Getting Started

So, I've been trying to get into the habit of writing daily. It's a pretty lonely job. And I am so easily distracted. Nothing like a creative project in the offing to help you get our house clean.... avoidance is king, even beyond entropy. I have at least 4 writing projects going on at once, some more complicated than others, and dozens of characters with their problems. But they all seem stuck at the starting gate. So rather than waiting for them to show up doing things, I thought I'd put a little pressure on myself to show up writing things. This way, I can't escape into, gee, does the bathroom need cleaning again? Or maybe I should make that one-pot pasta and shrimp dish? I'd like to share my characters and themes with more than just myself so here I am throwing it out there for the world to see. And I'm going to commit to getting here at least weekly, on my journey to daily writing.

I'll share about my play, Finders and my radio show, Dragon fly, which features Cape Couve, a Pacific NW town where time isn't a concept, my nascent novel based in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and my health notes radio spots, Your HealthKit.

Health Tip from Dr. H: Running is actually good for your knees. It's sitting too much that really bugs them. And poor foot gear. So up you get at least once an hour, walk about, use the stairs, then return to your task. And for heaven's sake, get some supportive footwear, slippers don't cut it, nor those 10-year old kicks you can't seem to part with. Using your knees with walking, stairs, jogging or running, can improve, not destroy, the cartilage, improving your knees' longevity.
